Presidents' Day Teaching Ideas and Craft

Presidents' Day is celebrated in the United States on the 3rd Monday in February. This year we will celebrate on February 20th.  Many schools pay particular attention to George Washington's birthday which is February 22. Abraham Lincoln's birthday, which is also in mid-February, is also often celebrated this month.


I found this great video that gives the names and pictures of all the presidents from George Washington to Donald Trump. I think the kids will enjoy it.  I want to thank the creator of the video, Mr.Harms, for sharing it with all of us. Click the link below to view the video.

Of course reading with the kids about the different presidents including Washington and Lincoln is always a great idea for Presidents' Day. Here is a sampling of books you might find at your library.
